Girls after playing outside on Saturday afternoon

My great Dad turned 60 on March 26th. We planned a surprise celebration for the weekend at my brother's river house. Dad knew we were coming and that we were planning on hanging out with Thomas and Jacque, but didn't know that some of our close family friends were arriving on Saturday morning.

We(the Krum's) headed that way on Wednesday day night after dinner. Thursday Trey had a meeting for work in Lockhart and then we all chipped in to get the house ready. Thomas and a buddy mowed, Trey and the kids weeded the front flower beds and I cleaned inside to get ready for our guests. Thursday night mom arrived. Friday morning Mom and I headed to the grocery, store before Dad got into town. Friday night MeMe, PawPaw, Trey I and the kids had a nice dinner at the house sang Happy Birthday to Dad complete with his favorite Apple pie. Saturday morning we did some stuff around the house and tried to stall until our friends arrived. Dad sure was surprised, he had no idea. After lunch we my parents, the friends and I headed down the road to Three Dudes Winery. It was great, I will def. be going back :) Saturday night Thomas grilled and we relaxed and visited. We had a great time celebrating and headed back home on Sunday afternoon.

Happy Birthday Dad, Hope you had a GREAT time :) LOVE you!! xoxo

Zoo Trip

March 22 - 26 was when we took our Spring break this year. A friend and I took the kids on the their first zoo trip that Tuesday. We had a great time looking at the animal and we ate out picnic lunch by the duck pond, because when you go to the Houston Zoo that is where you must eat. I remember eating there as a child. After we checked out the kid area we headed out for frozen treats from the ice cream cart man and a ride on the train. We were ALL pooped by the end of the day!

When we got home. I looked at myself in the mirror. I sometimes forget how LARGE my tummy is. I had on this flowey maternity top that was sticking straight out like a tent! People must have been thinking: "WOW, what exhibit is she gonna be giving birth at?!"

1st Baby shower

Well obviously not for me...

On Saturday March 20th I drove down to Katy for a baby shower for one of my best Childhood friends. Babies and mommy are a normal part of life for me but it was so sweet to see my dear friend Heather oh and ah over all the adorable little gifts. She is already such a little mommy and I love watching her love cute little Addison already. This was a new experience for me as it was the first shower that I have been able to attend for a childhood friend. So FUN!!

Congratulations Heather and Justin!!

I am also excited because their Addison and our Rebekah will only be a few weeks apart. Here is the belly shot we took hard to see because we were both wearing black.

I cant wait to take a picture of the two girls when they arrive and i am getting enough sleep to drive back to town :)

Super fun morning with life long friends that I love and miss. Thanks Beth, Louisa, and Sara for putting it all together, it was beautiful!

February book

I finally finished my Feb. book, the Olympics put me really far behind. I basically didn't read for the whole two weeks. I also ended up reading a different book than I said I was gonna read. I found a book that I started several months ago and thought I lost. The Last Juror, by John Grisham ended up being a great novel. It was a slow start for me but half way through it really got exciting and had a very sad ending. Now I will try and finish, The Five Love Languages of Children, by the end of March and I will let you know what I think.

Petting Zoo

This boy was in Heaven. He loves tractors!

This past Saturday we slipped on our boots, which is a normal occurrence around here because the snakes have awaken from the hibernation, and headed on down to the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo. We talked about the letter "R" in school for the week and on Thursday I introduced "R" is for Rodeo, told them Daddy was taking us to the livestock show, talked about all the animals then might see and they did a neat activity book that i found online at the HLSR website.

The girls were very excited and from Thursday on Saturday became, "Radio day" as the say. Yes, they inherited some of their Mama's speech problems but at least it wasn't "Wodeo Day" as I would have said. Thank you Mom and Dad for sending me to speech therapy :)

We had a really good time! They have so many neat exhibits for the kids, even Samuel was able to participate. After the exhibits when headed over to the Horse arena and watched a horse show. The girls really wanted to see the horses and as usual, Abigail was asking lots of questions as we watched the Western Horsemanship Show.

Strawberry Shortcake

I made this delicious dessert one Friday night, a couple weeks ago, when our fresh strawberries were at the end of their life. I even made the whipped cream myself. Go Mama Go! :) We all really enjoyed it. The next morning I heard Hannah say," Hey Abigail, That was yummy cake last night wasn't it!" I guess she dreamed about it all night long :)

Thankful Friday

I know I was not very faithful with my thankful Thursday quest. But today Friday, I have been overwhelmed with thanks so here it goes.

I am thankful that... (in no particular order)

-I don't have to wake up to an alarm in the mornings.
-I get to spend each day with my children.
-I can dance and laugh with my kids in the middle of the living room.
-My children have a beautiful place to run and play outside.
-My husband can walk home for lunch, even if he does get called on the radio the whole time.
-The baby growing inside of me is healthy and already loved.
-I truly love and adore my children. Sadly, we live in a grim dark world where not all moms can say that.
-My husband and my children's father are the same man.
-The above mentioned husband loves his family and is willing to sacrifice for us.
